Call of Duty: Modern Warfarehas its fair share of bugs, with some of these bugs impacting specific game modes. Such is the case with a Search and Destroy bug that’s been discovered in the game that givesCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers a significantly unfair advantage.
TheCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSearch and Destroy bug appears to happen randomly, and it allows one person on a team to move before the round actually starts. Search and Destroy is known to be one of the most competitive modes inCall of Duty, and so this bug has proven to be especially upsetting for players. Unfortunately,Infinity Warddoesn’t have a fix for the Search and Destroy bug actively on the way.

The bug was recently brought to the attention ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfaredeveloper Joe Cecot. He said, “Awful bug that we don’t have a repro in dev for.” This is unfortunate for dedicatedCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSearch and Destroy players, but considering the significance of this bug, one has to imagine that Infinity Ward will release a patch to fix it as soon as it possibly can.
Generally, Infinity Ward has been good about supportingCall of Duty: Modern Warfarepost-launch. This has included releasingupdates forModern Warfareon a weekly basis that address lingering bugs, balance issues, and other problems. So even if a fix for this specific Search and Destroy bug doesn’t come soon, fans can still expect Infinity Ward to address theCall of Duty: Modern Warfarebugs that it is able to fix.
While Cecot was talking toCall of Dutyfans on Twitter, he actually acknowledged some other bugs that Infinity Ward is aware of and working on fixes for. This includes aGround War bugwhere players spawn in areas of the map that they’re not supposed to access, as well as a bug where players aren’t getting credit for their claymore kills, therefore making it impossible to complete all of the Season 3 challenges.
In the meantime, fans can also expect more substantial updates forCall of Duty: Modern Warfarebesides just bug fixes. Infinity Ward has plenty of new content in the works for the game, includingnew weapons, maps, and more. It’s likely that aModern WarfareSeason 4 update is also in the works, which should be rather significant if previous season updates are anything to go by.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
