Months after launch,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3has finally added a feature that lets the player track progress for camo reward challenges in-game. Players now have a convenient way to see how much progress they have toward unlocking the desired paint job.

Ever sinceModern Warfare 3came out last November, fans had been asking for a way to track their camo reward objectives without returning to the main menu. This quality-of-life feature was a highly requested one, with some players even coming up with their own UI mockups to suggest how the game should implement it.

Inan official blog post,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3developers announced a new Season 2 patch that brings a series of updates and bug fixes to the FPS. Given how long they have been waiting to see it added, fans immediately focused on how the multiplayer and Zombies modes have received a feature that lets players see their camo reward progress in camo reward in the pause menu during a match. Earlier, players couldn’t check these side objectives while they were in the middle of a match and had to specifically access them from the Challenges menu.

Call of Duty: MW3’s New Camo-Tracking is Long Overdue

The new feature allows gamers to track up to 5 different challenges. To do this, players can select the desired challenge and use the “Add to Tracked” option to set it up for quick access. This addition is aimed at making things easier for players who grind in online modes to acquire newMW3weapon camos.

While extremely handy, the latestCall of DutyUIupdate is a rather straightforward one that players feel should have been implemented way sooner. The fact that the game didn’t ship with this feature in the first place seems more surprising than the fact that it has finally been integrated after 4 months. Regardless, now that it has arrived, online players can say goodbye to spending time rummaging through the menus or trying to estimate their challenge progress.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3is far from the perfect entry in the popular first-person shooter franchise, as has been evident fromMW3’s review scores. However, the inclusion of a fan-requested feature in the latest patch is definitely a step in the right direction and is better late than never. The addition of camo tracking is a sign that the developers are listening to the community and working on improving the experience for its players. Hopefully, essential features like this one will be there in the nextCall of Dutygame from the day one.
