Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayers may have been given a large drop of content for Season 1, but even more could be coming to the game soon. Based on an official screenshot released by Activision, a familiar scorestreak will be coming toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warsoon.
With theH.A.R.P. scorestreak recently addedto the game, this would be the second post-launch addition toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s scorestreak lineup. Much like how the H.A.R.P. is essentially an Advanced UAV, this specific streak will be a reward seen in many previousCall of Dutygames. Based on theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Wargameplay image, Treyarch will allow players to wield a flamethrower scorestreak some time in the near future.

The image in question shows players fighting onthe Raid multiplayer map, with an Assault Rifle user watching the area below and a massive explosion covering the map’s mini bar. While attention is likely going to be on the XM4 fan or the napalm covering much of the image, eagle-eyed fans turned their attention to the pool at the front of the image. Sure enough, one player fighting on the remasteredCall of Duty: Black Ops 2map is firing a flamethrower at another player.
While it is easy to doubt certainCall of Dutyleaks, this photo evidence is impossible to argue against. It would make no sense for Activision to use an older asset just for a randomCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warscreenshot, meaning that the flamethrower is likely in the game and ready to go for a future Season of content. Beyond that,a flamethrower scorestreak leakedahead of the game’s launch, much like the H.A.R.P. which has since been added to the streak lineup.
The flamethrower has an interesting history in theCall of Dutyseries. A regular loadout weapon inCall of Duty: World at War, it returned as a specialist weapon inCall of Duty: Black Ops 3andBlack Ops 4, with a proper streak versionseen inCall of Duty: WW2. With specialists not seen inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the flamethrower is set to mimic the variant fromCall of Duty: WW2, joining the War Machine as a specialist weapon repurposed as a scorestreak.
While it is unclear if this version of the flamethrower will be going by the purifier name, fans should expect it to have a similar damage output to previous Treyarch flamethrowers. The good news of an additional scorestreak is certainly welcome, however, as fans have beenupset over nerfed XPinCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waras of late.
