A new update forBorderlands 3has been announced today. The update will bring a lot of new features toBorderlands 3, including cross-play functionality.

Borderlands 3 is a chaotic looter shooter that prides itself on an incredible amount of varied loot and a constant sense of humor for those who don’t know. Crossplay was originally announced back in May, but, at the time, developer Gearbox said thatBorderlands 3players on PlayStationmight not be able to join in on the cross-play fun. Now that the update is here, that seems to be the case, but there is still plenty of other content in the update that PlayStation players will be able to enjoy.

This means the crossplay update will allow players on Steam, Epic Games Store, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S to all play together through the game’s SHiFT Matchmaking system. To do so, players will have to make a display name specifically for SHiFT Matchmaking unique from all other users. Another big change coming toBorderlands 3is a level cap increase up to level 72. This should lead to even crazier andmore powerful builds acrossBorderlands 3’s vault huntersas they tackleBorderlands 3and its multiple campaign DLCs.

Another big change coming with the update are endless seasonal events. From the main menu, players will be able to select which of the seasonal events they would like active. This includes Bloody Harvest, Broken Hearts Day, and Revenge of the Cartels but does not include the game’s various other limited-time events.

This new feature will allow players to complete challenges and collect loot from the events for as long as they would like or need to collect it all. This way, players should be able to get all ofBorderlands 3’s legendary gearthey need for their builds. The update also includes a new finale event for the True Trials mini-events that is only for the most powerful players as it is extremely challenging.

This new update comes afterBorderlands 3has received numerous balancing updates, as well as two season passes worth of DLC content. In addition, a newspin-off for the series titledTiny Tina’s Wonderlandswas announced at this year’s E3, so hopefully, it will receive the same amount of post-launch support. With the new level cap and ability to grind out the seasonal content players may have missed, now seems like a great time to drop back intoBorderlands 3and enjoy the mayhem.

Borderlands 3is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
