Summary
Bethesda has unveiled a new collectible anthology of the entireFalloutfranchise, set to become available to PC gamers in April.Fans of Bethesda’s longstanding post-apocalyptic RPG franchise have a lot to look forward to this Spring with the much anticipatedFalloutTV series also set to go live on Amazon Prime on April 12.
Since the release ofFallout 4in 2015,Falloutfans haven’t exactly had it easy. The messy launch of the shared-world service experienceFallout 76left large swaths of the fanbase disappointed. While Bethesda has been busy nursingFallout 76back to a respectable standing, the studio’s future plans will see the next mainlineFallouttitle launch close to 2030 or later, after Bethesda has confirmed to be buildingTheElder Scrolls 6next. On a more positive note, recently leaked Xbox v FTC court documents from the former’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard revealed that Bethesda had been planning to release aremaster of the widely belovedFallout 3. As the documents are several years old, it’s possible that these plans may have changed or been scrapped, though the status ofFallout 3’s remaster is not officially known.

Now, just under two months to go until the debut ofFallout’s Amazon series, Bethesda has unveiled a newFalloutS.P.E.C.I.A.LAnthology, releasing on PC the day before the Amazon series goes live, on April 11. The package comes in a collectible mini-nuke case which houses seven S.P.E.C.I.A.L attribute cards, each with a PC code for their correspondingFallouttitle. Included in the anthology is the original Interplay trilogy inFallout,Fallout 2,andFallout Tactics, as well as the Bethesda-madeFallout 3: Game of the Year Edition,Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition, andFallout 76.Obsidian Entertainment’s fan-favoriteFallout: New Vegasis included as well. All DLC forFallout 3,4,andNew Vegasare included in their respective versions.
Games Included In The Fallout S.P.E.C.I.A.L Anthology:
Many fans of theFalloutfranchise on console have been clamoring to be able to play some of the original games, especially Xbox gamers after its acquisition of Bethesda.Falloutfans under the announcement expressed their confusion at the fact that this new anthology is exclusive to PC. Even though the originalFalloutgames were designed for PC, console gamers have seen a multitude of PC-centric RPGs, RTS, and tactics games be sufficiently ported to Xbox and PlayStation over the years. With this in mind, it wouldn’t be impossible for Bethesda to remake or remaster the original isometricFalloutgames for console and PC at some point. On top of that, therumoredFallout 3remaster planscould still be alive and well, soFalloutfans may still have some interesting things to look forward to during the long road toFallout 5.
The next mainlineFallouttitle is likely many years away, asBethesda is moving on toThe Elder Scrolls 6after having just releasedStarfieldlast year. In the meantime, perhaps Bethesda could allow its now sister studio Obsidian to take another crack at a new smallerFallouttitle, just like it did withNew Vegasback in 2010, to hold fans over until the next bigFalloutouting.
