Player Mistakes
Back to All Characters
Yaoyao, the cherished Dendro Healer character from Liyue, had been awaited since early inGenshin Impact’shistory. Finally, in patch 3.4, players can add her to their teams. Yaoyao’s White Jade Radishes can be used both on-field and off-field recovery and Dendro application, making her a great addition to numerous team compositions. Because of this, she can use a wide array of polearms effectively.

Due to her support role, Yaoyao is relatively easy to build, similar to many otherGenshin Impacthealer and support characters such asBennettor Kuki Shinobu. However, as she primarily scales with HP, it can be difficult to decide which polearm to use, as there aren’t many options for HP secondary stat. To maximize Yaoyao’s potential, players can go for a variety of 4-star weapons that utilize Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge, with passive effects that can provide self or team buffs such as the Favonius Lance, Kitain Cross Spear, and Moonpiercer.
Updated on June 01, 2025, by Elara Leclair:With the arrival of Genshin Impact’s 4.0 version update and the unveiling of the Fontaine region, players are now granted access to an array of fresh gameplay mechanics, an entirely uncharted area for exploration, a roster of new characters, and more. Another notable inclusion in this update is the introduction of new Battle Pass weapons and a collection of Fontaine region’s forgable weapons, allowing players to fine-tune specific character builds. Among those significantly benefiting from these additions is Yaoyao, who emerges as a prime example due to the introduction of the game’s first 4-star polearm that scales with HP. This weapon perfectly complements Yaoyao’s kit, offering players a highly viable free-to-play option for optimizing their performance.

8Staff of Homa
RELATED:Genshin Impact: Best Hu Tao Build
The Staff of Homa is widely considered to be one of thebest polearmsfor characters that utilize HP scaling inGenshin Impact. While it is primarily a DPS weapon, it can still be a viable option for Yaoyao players who are looking to increase their damage output and have a spare one that cannot be used for other characters like Hu Tao orZhongli. It may be worth experimenting with if the player is feeling adventurous.
7Prototype Starglitter
Prototype Starglitter is an excellent choice for players looking to take advantage of Yaoyao’s extensive healing capabilities. Boasting one of the highest Energy Recharge secondary stats after Engulfing Lightning, this weapon can allow players to use Yaoyao’s burst more often when they are in a pinch. As the passive effect of this weapon is not so significant, players can also opt for the Catch as it provides the same base and secondary stat values.
6Kitain Cross Spear (R5)
Kitain Cross Spear is a considerable free-to-play option when enhanced to level 5 since it is aforgeable weapon. Its Elemental Mastery secondary stat is beneficial and comparable to many other Elemental Mastery weapons inGenshin Impact. Moreover, its passive effect provides an additional advantage by generating additional energy for Yaoyao’s Burst, which can be triggered even when off-field.
5Dragon’s Bane
Dragon’s Bane is an excellent choice for players who want to utilize Yaoyao as a Dendro reaction-enabling support role alongside her healing abilities. This weapon boasts a significantElemental Masterysecondary stat value, allowing it to be used effectively in both Bloom and Burgeon teams.
Its passive effect can also be taken advantage of, though it requires some specific party compositions. All in all, Dragon’s Bane is a good weapon for those who wish to use Yaoyao’s support capabilities, even though it is not the most versatile option.

4Favonius Lance (R5)
RELATED:Genshin Impact: Best Team Compositions For Xiao
Favonius Lanceis an excellent weapon for many support characters, and for players looking to maximize Yaoyao’s Energy Recharge and particle generation. It has a slightly lower Energy Recharge secondary stat than some other polearm options, but its passive effect more than makes up for it. This weapon is ideal for players who use Yaoyao primarily as a healer with a burst priority, as it will help to maximize their Energy regeneration, but otherwise won’t contribute much to party support. Players should remember to focus on some Crit Rate on Yaoyao when using this weapon, as the passive ability requires it for optimal performance.
3Black Tassel
Black Tassel is an ideal 3-star option for players who want to enable Yaoyao for utmost healing, as it is currently the only polearm that scales with HP% on its secondary stat. Although its passive stat doesn’t contribute any utility to Yaoyao or the rest of the team, it is still a convenient choice for new players who may not have the resources or other options. Despite its limited use, it remains a viable weapon for Yaoyao players who are looking to maximize her HP.
2Moonpiercer (R5)
Moonpiercer is an excellent free-to-play weapon choice for Yaoyao, as its Elemental Mastery stat and ATK buff can greatly benefit the damage output ofDendro reaction-focused teams. However, players should keep in mind that the ATK buff provided by Moonpiercer may not be as significant for many characters due to a bigger variety of stats instead of just ATK for skill-scaling inGenshin Impact. Nevertheless, Aggravate teams can still benefit greatly from this weapon, with characters such as Yae Miko or Raiden Shogun being able to make the most of the ATK buff.
1Rightful Reward (R5)
Especially for those who prioritize Yaoyao’s healing prowess over her capacity to contribute to Dendro Elemental reactions, the Rightful Reward can be considered the best option. This is particularly fortunate since it falls within the category of craftable weapons, making it entirely free-to-play. As such, while being the first 4-star HP-scaling polearm weapon, it also allows players to gain the maximum benefit from Yaoyao’s Elemental Burst while also increasing its uptime consistency, thanks to its ability to restore a significant amount of energy particles.
Since Yaoyao is able to heal herself with her Elemental Skill, as well as her Elemental Burst as long as she is on the field, she will be able to activate this skill quite easily, even though she can also benefit from its effects even when off the field. With that, players can expect to see even higher healing values, although they may want to consider focusing on building other stats with artifacts to allow the team to benefit from the additional support Yaoyao is able to provide.
