At the moment, there are no Galaxy Opal cards inNBA2K22’s MyTeam mode. Even after these cards are released, a high-level Pink Diamond card is often better than a low Galaxy Opal card. A team full of Pink Diamond players should be appropriately feared. Gamers with these lineups are either very rich or very talented and sometimes even both.

But not all Pink Diamond cards are created equally. Many of these cards have worse offense, defense, and fewer Hall of Fame Badges than the regular Diamond players beneath them. This list has been completely overhauled with the best cards right now. Also, a chart has been added for studious gamers who like to analyze which cards make sense for their decks.

Bronze Badges
Mario Chalmers is a beast on offense, focusing on long-range shots and passing. But what makes him unique is his lopsided defensive badges and statistics. Games are won and lost on turnovers, that’s for certain, and hardly anybody generates such turnovers like Chalmers can.

Few things throw off opposing teams more than a power forward that can do it all. Juwan Howard can still rebound and dunk against the NBA’s best as any power forward is expected. But when Howard is dropping times and raining down three-pointers, suddenly the power forward draws an inordinate amount of focus. Other stars on the team will be open for more opportunities when Howard is at his best.

This list is dominated by players that do everything pretty well. That’s not a bad standard, but sometimes gamers don’t want a well-rounded jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none on their side. If that’s the case, Roy Hibbert is a savvy pick. The bulk of his legendary badges is in finishing on the inside and playing defensively. That’s the job of a center, might as well do it at the top level.

Good luck on the interior when Andrew Bogut is there. At seven feet, this power forward will make his team feel like they’ve got two centers on the court without surrendering anything statistically. His 92 on offense isn’t enticing, but he’s a surprisingly gifted passer. In a team that likes making it rain from the arc, Bogut is the best teammate anybody could ask for.
Silver Badges
One of the things thatbeginners learn about MyTeamearly on is that the point guard is often assigned to dribble the ball, drive inside, and, if the play isn’t there, pass to the open man. Yakhouba Diawara is made for that. He’s got an extra few inches over most other point guards in height, which is always good for creating mismatches. His defenders will need help. When they get it, pass to the newly open man for some free points.

Playing against Walter Davis when he’s got the ball is incredibly frustrating. He’s got huge bonuses to driving the ball inside and massive bonuses to shooting from range, so opposing teams will attempt to contain him with a double team. But that’s a problem too since he’s got access tothe best playmaking badges in the game. There is no right way to defend against him and that’s what makes his card so frustrating to stop.

It’s hard t find a card more balanced than Franz Wagner. And at small forward, that’s exactly what gamers want to see from that position. He can defend against centers, pass like a point guard, dunk like a power forward, and shoot like a shooting guard. In MyTeam, this kind of versatility is key to expanding the playbook. Call any maneuver and Wagner will be able to pull it off.

What do gamers demand from their point guard? Usually, just two things. They wantthe best defensive badges in the game. And then they want him to be able to pass. Michael Cart-Williams checks both boxes emphatically. With perfect 99 scores regardless of where he’s at on the court, he’s also good for some points, but the bulk of his legendary badges are in these two categories.

Imagine anincredible power forward buildthis good that features a seven-foot-tall player. That’s Lauri Markkanen, a tough matchup for a center, extremely challenging for a power forward, and downright impossible for a small forward (which Markkanen can also play). With perfect scores on both ends of the court, this is a card that is expletive-inducing and will lead to several mismatched victories.

First thing’s first, though Popeye Jones is listed primarily as a power forward, it’s best to move Jones over to his secondary position as, with his height, he will immediately become one ofthe best small forwards. And it isn’t hard to see why. He’s got at least a gold or better in every defensive badge and a nice split of legendary badges among all four categories.
