Summary

Hack and slash through the goblin hordes of the Absolute with the best Slashing weapons inBaldur’s Gate 3. These weapons are a favorite to many players, for their great effects and damage to those who wish to seek a heavier, sharper weapon. InBaldur’s Gate 3, a Slashing weapon consists of the following: battleaxes, halberds, glaives, greataxes, greatswords, handaxes, hand crossbows, longswords, scimitars, and sickles.

Whether it’s a one-handed or two-handed weapon, the common factor remains that these weapons have a sharp edge todeal some serious Slashing damage, and anyone caught on the other end, friend or foe, is in for a bad time, especially if players bring inBaldur’s Gate 3’s best Slashing weapons.

Githyanki Longsword

7Githyanki Greatsword

4~17 Damage

Githyanki weapons are extremely powerful inBaldur’s Gate 3, and that’s no surprise considering their species are bred to be warriors. Despite players being able tofind multiple Githyanki weapons, theGithyanki Greatsword(Psyionic) is one of the best variants players can find in the game that deals slashing damage and will be in the player’s arms well before Act 3. However, the bonus of Psychic damage is only available to githyanki, so either bring along Lae’zel, or make a githyanki character.

6Adamantine Longsword

2~11 Damage

Players can wield this longsword in one-hand, or two-hands for that added flair and damage boost. It’s a great weapon to wield, especially when it has to be earned from a quest rather than simply killing an unsuspecting foe or innocent.

Even better still, are the effects of the weapon, which makes Slashing a permanent bonus, even to those who are usually resistant to it.

5Sussur Greatsword

3~13 Damage

TheSussur Greatswordis accessed for the Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest, and players best choose wisely whenpicking their grand design, as they can’t take it back. Yet, the Sussur Greatsword is a great option to have thanks to its ability to Silence targets. This means that those hit with the sword will be unable to cast spells that require a verbal activation.

2~13 Damage

Not only does The Undead Bane present players with a great weapon in its own right thanks to the damage output, but the capabilities are extended even further thanks to the Slay the Wicked effect, allowing for up to 6 points of Slashing damage extra forFiends and Undead backgrounds. Many monsters and creatures players will face inBaldur’s Gate 3come under that category, and pairing that with Profane Scourge could spell instant demise to foes that should already be dead.

3Blooded Greataxe

3~17 Damage

A Martial Two-Handed Melee Greataxe weapon, theBlooded Greataxeis one of the best weapons in the game that can be acquired fairly early into Act 1, provided that players have the appropriate coin to purchase it.

As a Rare weapon with a great set of damage attached to it, players can expect a bout of Slashingfor killable foes, enhanced by the Relentless Revenge effect that allows players to deal more damage if their health is reasonably low; perfect for situations where players are getting beat on.

2Everburn Blade

3~16 Damage

TheEverburn Bladeis possibly one of the first weapons that players will come across inBaldur’s Gate 3, but by no means does that mean it’s one to give up on. This Greatsword is fantastic thanks to the fact that it deals additional Fire damage, meaning that players will always deal bonus damage with each successful hit. The weapon is highly proficient and players that claim this sword will be using it throughout Act 1 and even beyond.

1Baldurian’s Giantslayer

5~15 Damage

Arguably the best Slashing weapon inBaldur’s Gate 3, the Baldurian’s Giantslayer is notable for a few factors, and the fact that it’s a well-kept secret is not one of them. The Two-Handed Greatsword is of Legendary rarity, and not only will players have an Advantage on Attack Rolls to larger enemies, but doubling damage from a Strength Modifier and being able to turn into a giant that deals extra damage and has more hit points? It’s safe to say that this is a weapon of warriors in the right hands.
