Ubisoft has done some major shifting when it comes to its upcoming launch line-up. It hascanceled a total of four games, includingSplinter Cell VRandGhost Recon Frontline, while it also delayedAvatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It seems, according to a new report from Bloomberg, thatAssassin’s Creed Rifthas also been internally delayed.
It should be noted that Ubisoft has not publicly commented onAssassin’s Creed Riftat all, so it has never announced a release date. However, it seems that Ubisoft was aiming to get it out in February 2023 before the current fiscal year closes in March, but that is no longer the case.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has shared a lot of details on this game, however. Reportedly, it is a small-scale game adapted from a plannedValhallaDLC, and it featuresBasim during his Baghdad days. It was specifically chosen to be adapted to fill in the gaps in Ubisoft’s schedule, and recent developments put a serious hole in its current fiscal year with just a few known releases.
This delay reportedly came about because Ubisoft’s Bordeaux office is leading the development and asked for more time, as the game is running behind schedule. Notably, it was previously reported thatAssassin’s Creed Rift’s development was facing some unspecified challenges, so this internal delay makes sense. It is now reportedly slated to come out in the May-June period, meaning the delay adds 3-4 more months.
