Ubisoft has confirmed thatAssassin’s Creed Codename Red, the open-world RPG set in Feudal Japan, will officially be titledAssassin’s Creed Shadows. This name forAssassin’s Creed Redhad previously leaked, adding further credence to the information.
As it stands, very little is officially known aboutAssassin’s Creed Shadows. There was a short teaser trailer with its initial reveal that showcased the setting and presumably the antagonist, a female shinobi.Assassin’s Creed Shadowsrumors and leakswould suggest that this shinobi is only one of the protagonists, being joined by the real-world African samurai Yasuke. Of course, this remains to be seen, but fans may know when they will find out.

Alongside confirmation of this title, Ubisoft confirmed thatAssassin’s Creed Shadowswill get its first official cinematic world premier trailer on May 15 at 9am PT/12pm ET. That’s only a couple of days, meaning fans don’t have to agonize over the information until Ubisoft Forward. It should be noted that this confirmed May trailer does not rule out new information on the game at Ubisoft Forward, especially if it is releasing relatively soon.Ubisoft Forward is confirmed for July 08, 2025, and getting a cinematic trailer out of the way now could open up the door to a gameplay and release date trailer at the event.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Trailer Date and Time
Either way, getting a closer glimpse at the game is sure to be exciting, and it’ll be interesting to see how Ubisoft markets the game after May 15. What’s notable, again, is thatAssassin’s Creed Shadowshad previously leaked. It made the rounds online, appearing in some social media circles, but was relatively minor. The leaker, a Twitter account called UBI_FraxV2, had been banned after stating this title and saying that two DLC releases were also planned about the game. With the title now confirmed, the two DLC packs seem more likely and make sense when compared to otherAssassin’s Creedgames.
What the future holds is up in the air, but for now,Assassin’s Creedfans should mark May 15 on their calendars. Many fans have wanted aJapan-setAssassin’s Creedgame for a long time, and it’ll be interesting to see if it lives up to the hype.

Originally releasing in 2007, the series has seen 12 mainline releases with the recent games moving to a more open-world RPG style.
