At the end of September, Nintendo released the long-awaited Fall update, also known as theHalloween update or Ver. 1.5.0, that brought many fun activities toAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, such as pumpkin growing and spooky item crafting. For example, a peskybug affected theNew Horizonsplayer passports, with some titles that they can acquire through Nook Miles not appearing. Though this is a small issue, some players who had dedicated many hours to collecting all in-game nicknames became frustrated. However, Nintendo was very quick to respond and promised that the issue would be resolved in a soon-forthcoming update. As promised, Ver. 1.5.1 resolves the problem.

Ever have avillager start talking about a gifted pumpkinwhen they were actually handed a bamboo shoot? Apparently, some players were experiencing this strange bug, along with a few others such as messages displaying in English for those playing in other languages. While some of these might have led to a little bit of hilarity, another bug resulting in players not able to vault over rivers was much more of an annoyance. Luckily, Nintendo was vigilant to attack the issues and the newest patch resolves all of these problems.

General Updates

Ver. 1.5.1 should download and install on its own if the user is connected to the internet. If not, the player can download it manually by navigating to the home screen in the Nintendo Switch.Hover overNew Horizons, press the + button and go to “Software Update” to download it from the internet. Keep in mind that all players must be using the same version of software to play together, so for those looking to do some trick-or-treating and spooky island exploring, make sure that this update is installed first.
