Summary
After being on top of the entire entertainment industry for over a decade, theMarvel Cinematic Universehas fallen into a minor state of disarray. In the lead-up toAvengers: Infinity War, the MCU was invincible, and after its release, it looked as though things could only get bigger and better for the juggernaut franchise. But then came a quick and clear shift. WithAvengers: Endgamebeing the perfect culmination of 10 years of build-up, many fans saw this as an opportunity to jump ship, and the overabundance of mediocreMCU content on Disney Plusonly made that decision easier for many.
But that’s far from the MCU’s only issue right now. For the last few years it’s been unclear just what the MCU is building towards, with each movie and TV show tackling pretty standalone threats. The one villain they had teed up forthe nextAvengersmovieis probably out for the count. But that doesn’t mean that the MCU is in complete shambles, and there are still a handful of movies that fans are holding out hope for, with one being the perfect blueprint for a large-scale LEGO game.

Avengers: Secret Wars Could Be the Perfect Inspiration for a LEGO Game
Avengers: Secret Wars' Premise Is Tailor-Made for LEGO
There have been two major events in Marvel comics history titledSecret Wars. The firstSecret Warsevent debuted all the way back in 1984, and sawthe Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Manget teleported to a mysterious realm called Battleworld alongside their villainous counterparts. The other mainSecret Warsevent happened a bit more recently, in 2015. In this version, multiple Marvel realities and universes are merged together to form a new planet known as Battleworld, which Doctor Doom rules with an iron fist.
While it’s currently unclear just how the MCU’sAvengers: Secret Warswill play out, it seems more likely that it’ll borrow from the 2015Secret Warsrun than the 1984 version. That means Fox’sX-Menuniverse could finally be integrated with theMCUalongside the potential return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men.
Naturally, this premise lends itself pretty well to a LEGO game right off the bat. With multiple universes colliding,Avengers: Secret Warswill presumably bring a ton of iconic characters together into one movie, thus giving a LEGO game adaptation a ton of playable characters to use, with multiple multiverse variations of each one, which is a LEGO game staple. The setting of Battleworld also naturally lends itself to a LEGO game, with it being a collection of individual hub-worlds all meshed together.
A LEGO Avengers: Secret Wars Game Already Has a Great Blueprint to Follow
A LEGOAvengers: Secret Warsgame wouldn’t actually be the first time TT Games has made a multiversal Marvel game before.LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2borrows heavily from the general premise ofSecret Wars, though rather than Doom forging the worlds together, it’s Kang the Conquerer using his time-manipulation abilities to bring settings like Wakanda, Manhattan, and Hala together.
But whileLEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2was great, there’s a new blueprint that a LEGOAvengers: Secret Warsgame could follow laid out byLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Themost expansive LEGO game to date,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagadelivers hundreds of playable characters, over 20 open-world hubs, and a ton of main story and side content. For a movie presumably as large-scale asAvengers: Secret Wars, a LEGO game on a similar scale toThe Skywalker Sagamight be for the best.
