Whether or not fans agree thatThe Midnight Clubis Mike Flanagan’s scariest show, one thing is for sure: the filmmaker has put out some incredible content. His 2016 filmHushstars Kate Siegel as Maddie Young, a deaf writer who is home alone when a killer appears.

Hushis definitely one of thebest modern slashersand it would be great to get the chance to see Maddie again as she’s such an intelligent character. The sequel could change things up and be a supernatural film, or it could be another slasher where Maddie is in another location, like on vacation.

Octavia Spencer as Sue Ann in Ma

Ma (2019)

Octavia Spencer plays a convincing villain inMa, the 2019 Blumhouse horror movie. Spencer portrays Sue Ann Ellington, who meets Maggie Thompson (Diana Silvers) and her high school friends. Sue Ann suggests that they hang out in the basement of her home since they want a place without adult supervision.

Mais a well-made movie and Spencer’s performance is impressive as she portrays a lonely and miserable woman who carries around scars of being bullied when she was younger. Maggie is also asolid horror movie main characteras she wants the freedom that many teenagers yearn for and she is intelligent and wants to fit in but also has her own mind. A sequel would make a lot of sense as it could follow Maggie as she finds herself in another creepy situation. The sequel could be a slasher about Maggie’s senior year of high school or could even feature her attending college to make the setting different.

Vince Vaughn standing behind Kathryn Newton in Freaky

Freaky (2020)

While there probably won’t be a sequel toFreaky, it doesn’t hurt to hope and it would definitely be a fun idea. In an interview withComingsoon.net, the movie’s director, Christopher Landon, said, “I don’t think it’s ever gonna happen, because I honestly don’t know if the studio has an appetite for a sequel. I think they’re quite comfortable with it being a standalone movie, and to be honest, I am too, because we didn’t really have an idea for a sequel.”

Freakyis a fun, campy body-swap horror moviewhere Kathryn Newton’s high school character Millie Kessler finds herself in the body of a middle-aged serial killer named The Blissful Butcher (Vince Vaughn). While thehorror movie has a satisfying ending, it would still be cool to see a second film where the Butcher strikes again and swaps with someone else, maybe a teenage boy this time.
